UN/CEFACT is a subsidiary, intergovernmental body of the UNECE Committee of Trade. UN/CEFACT is managed by a bureau comprising a Chair and several Vice-chairs. It has global membership and its members are experts from intergovernmental organizations, individual countries' authorities and also from the business community. Within the United Nations framework of the Economic and Social Council, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) serves as the focal point for trade facilitation recommendations and electronic business standards, covering both commercial and government business processes that can foster growth in international trade and related services.

In today section meeting Unknown User (butterly) announced the end of his mandate to the staff. Maria CECCARELLI and Unknown User (pikart) have been temporarly appointed as reponsible persons to cope with his functions, until a new Chief of Trade Facilitation Section will be in charge.
