UN/CEFACT Secretariat


Within the United Nations framework of the Economic and Social Council, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) serves as the focal point for trade facilitation recommendations and electronic business standards, covering both commercial and government business processes that can foster growth in international trade and related services. UN/CEFACT is a subsidiary, intergovernmental body of the UNECE under the Trade Facilitation Section. UN/CEFACT is managed by a Bureau comprising a Chair and several Vice-Chairs. It has global membership and its members are experts from intergovernmental organizations, individual countries' authorities and also from the business community. The UN/CEFACT secretariat, among other things, assists the Bureau by organizing all official meetings, publishing all approved deliverables, promoting UN/CEFACT work and deliverables, ensuring that all procedures are properly followed…
