Project Purpose

The purpose of this project is to create a global standard for destination travel information (DTI)* in order to exchange information among businesses and/or travelers.

Project Scope

Based on the agreed business models, this project standardizes location identifiers and formalizes other DTI. This project may develop identifiers and necessary codes with location information for tourist facilities, such as designated world heritage properties, public facilities (public-toilets, emergency ward, police office, etc.) and take them with GPS coordinates.

Project Deliverables

The project deliverables are - The class diagrams of the business transactions for the creation of the XML messages - ABIEs, BBIEs, ASBIEs and CCs (if necessary), based on the UN/CEFACT Core Component Technical Specification - BRS (Business Requirements Specification) and RSM (Requirements Specification Mapping) documents - Necessary identifier and code list

Exit Criteria

The project leader submits the final draft to the Bureau when the public review is successful. He can declare the completion of the project after the Bureau approves it.

Project Team Membership and Required Functional Expertise

The membership is open to experts with broad knowledge in the areas of DTI services, their e-business operation, and the functions of UN/CEFACT Forum. In addition any Head of Delegation may invite technical experts from their constituency to participate in the work. Experts are expected to contribute to the work based solely on their expertise.

Head of Delegation Support

Japan, India and South Korea agreed three countries. October 5, 2013, the DTI project proposal approved by the UN/CEFACT.

Geographical Focus

The focus is global and cross-sectorial among travel industry.

Initial Contributions

The following contributions are submitted as part of this proposal. It is understood that these contributions are only for consideration by the Project Team and that other participants may submit additional contributions in order to ensure that as much information as possible is obtained from those with expertise and a material interest in the project. It is also understood that the Project Team may choose to adopt one or more of these contributions "as is". This project will be provided with DTI for public facilities defined in South Korea, offering information and actual models managed in Korea, Japan, Thailand, etc. List of contributions: 1) To provide actual case studies and utilization model of unmanned guided service by using DTI 2) To demonstrate development model applied to smart phone using DTI

Resource Requirements

Resources required are business and technical experts with a broad knowledge of DTI services and operation in any region or country. Modeling expertise is also required in the project. The project does not require any additional resources from the UN/ECE secretariat. Note*: DTI is an abbreviation for destination travel information, which details a travel destination with its location information and GPS coordinates.
