Project Purpose

The purpose of the project is to develop a format(s) for the publication of UN/CEFACT’s libraries. The project will provide a machine-processable format for the library content that may easily be integrated by software providers as well as allowing browsing of the library content by humans.

Project Scope

The project will define the publication format for the following libraries. - Core Components - Business Information Entities - Data Types - Document Assemblies - Reference Data Models Other libraries, such as UN/EDIFACT, and library submission formats are out of scope but may be separate projects.

Project Deliverables

The deliverables from this project will include: • Technical specification of a o Machine-processable format, e.g. XML based format (leading format) o Transformation rules to a human readable format, e.g. HTML

Exit Criteria

• The Technical Specification approved by the Bureau • Implementation verification from a minimum of two independent software tools, demonstrating the exchange

Project Team Membership and Required Functional Expertise

Membership is open to UN/CEFACT Experts1 with deep knowledge in standards production and publication and awareness of implementers’ expectations.

Geographical Focus

The geographic focus of the project is global.

Initial Contributions

The contributions submitted with this proposal include: • Procedures for Reference Data Model & Associated Artefacts Publication Project • XML4CCTS • CCTS version 2.01 • CCBDA version 1.0

Resource Requirements

Participants in the project shall provide resources for their own participation. The existence and functioning of the project shall not require any additional resources from the UNECE secretariat. Required resources include project management, experts in the artefacts listed in chapter 2, machine-processable publication format design (chapter 3).
