The purpose of the project is to enable geospatial information to be represented in Core Components by means of Core Components Technical Specification, CCTS. 
Geographical data and information has an implicit or explicit relation with a location relative to the earth. This location can be expressed as features such as point, line, or polygon feature, in 2D or 3D. Each feature is defined by a (set) of coordinates.

 The project will define the representation format for geospatial coordinates. The project will explore if the current representation forms in the CCTS are sufficient or if new data types will be required. If so, the project will update the data type catalogue.
