Project Purpose
Text Area | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
| ||||
The requirements for international forwarding and transport contract related data exchanges are well covered within the UN/CEFACT Core Component Library and the Multi-Modal Transport Reference Data Model. However, many operators still have a document-centric approach to data exchange including wide use of the IFT*** family of UN/EDIFACT UNSMs. Individual core component based international forwarding and transport contract related data exchanges are not very visible on the UN/CEFACT website and could benefit from documented individual business requirements specifications (BRS) and data exchange structures. |
Project Scope
Text Area | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
| ||||
Develop the BRS and prepare the CCBDA message structures covering the international forwarding and transport contract related data exchanges: • Booking messages (provisional booking, firm booking, booking confirmation) • Shipping instructions • Waybill • Status report and Status request All of these messages should be proposed and maintained as subsets of the MMT-RDM. This will allow users to not only utilize them as stand-alone document-centric messages, but also to integrate them into a more holistic data-driven exchange of information implemented in different technical and business environments. These messages share a common history evidenced in the UN/EDIFACT IFTM** messages and the IFTSTA/Q messages. Many of their data requirements are common; these have been presented in the existing “International Forwarding and Transport BRS” published in 2008. It is foreseen to update this existing BRS as an over-arching BRS for these international forwarding and transport contract related data exchanges in order to ensure continued harmonization among the messages. The business requirements of the individual data exchanges to be developed in annexes or further sections of this over-arching BRS. |
