The United Nations Centre for Trade Facilitation and Electronic Business was established, as a subsidiary, intergovernmental body of the UNECE Committee on Trade, mandated to develop a programme of work of global relevance to achieve improved worldwide coordination and cooperation in recommendations and electronic business standards, and trade facilitation, covering both commercial and government business processes that can foster growth in international trade and related services.

On the spot

24 June 2015: The UN/EDIFACT directory version D.15A has been validated by BPS Validation Team and approved by UN/CEFACT Bureau for publication. It is now available in the UN/EDIFACT section of the UN/CEFACT website and can be downloaded from the UN/EDIFACT Directories21 July 2015: A revision of Recommendation 1 has been proposed. A new project might be started. Evaluation is still in course. You can find the latest information on this here: Rec 1 New Project.
