Project Purpose

The project’s purpose is to create a guideline for implementing and a repository of actual implementations of the Supply Chain Reference Data Model (SCRDM) message Cross Industry Invoice (CII).

Project Scope

Several projects around the SCRDM were successfully completed already. The purpose of this project is to verify this work in real-life through a repository of implementation guides. The dematerialization of the invoice is central to international trade as this is a key document in all transactions. Work has been undergone in many countries across Asia, Africa, Europe and elsewhere to standardize this core document. The project will focus on the business case of implementations which are compliant with UN/CEFACT’s deliverables (this can include the SCRDM CII as well as the UN/EDIFACT INVOIC). The repository will create a model for future contributions while preparing case studies that are applied today. The resulting deliverables are intended to be presented as annexes to the CII BRS / RSM.

Project Deliverables

The project deliverables are: • A model template for repository submissions of actual implementations • Some sample repository submissions • An Executive Guide on the use of the SCRDM CII • A general implementation guide of the SCRDM CII

Exit Criteria

The exit criteria will be: • Model template for repository submissions, Executive Guide and General Implementation Guide: o Final draft ready for publication • Sample repository submissions: o Final draft ready for publication

Project Team Membership and Required Functional Expertise

The project team is open to experts with broad knowledge and experience in the area of electronic invoicing. In addition, Heads of Delegations may invite technical experts from their constituency to participate in the work. Experts are expected to contribute to the work based solely on their expertise and to comply with the UN/CEFACT Code of Conduct and Ethics.

Geographical Focus

The geographical focus of the project is global.

Initial Contributions

Initial contributions will be sourced from existing documentation and standards including the following. Other implementations are invited to provide information on their requirements and to contribute to the creation of a model template for submissions. • Draft of EN16931 and its deliverables • ZUGFeRD specification 1.0 • France e-Invoice requirements • Swiss e-Invoice requirements • Thai e-Invoice requirements

Resource Requirements

Participants in the project shall provide resources for their own participation. The existence and functioning of the project shall not require any additional resources from the UNECE secretariat. The project will be prepared in between Forums, in face-to-face meetings, if feasible, and using conference call facilities (provided by the UNECE secretariat).
